Retirement Planning

Retirement planning goes far beyond the financials and delves into what excites you about retirement and what is potentially causing you to lose sleep at night. These are some of the common questions/scenarios we assist our clients with on a daily basis:

  1. Will I have enough money to maintain my desired lifestyle in retirement?
  2. What rate of return on my investments will I need to avoid running out of money?
  3. I lost my insurance coverage when I retired – what are my options?
  4. What should I do with my Group RRSP or Defined Contribution Pension Plan?
  5. Should I choose a joint-life or single-life pension option?
  6. When should I start receiving my Canada Pension Plan (CPP)?
  7. How do I avoid the Old-Age Security (OAS) claw-back?

If you have these questions or any others, contact us for a consultation.

Legacy Planning

Formally known as Estate Planning, we help our clients with the following:

  1. Position their assets in a way that minimizes taxes and the invasive, time-consuming, costly & unpredictable probate process
  2. Explore creative ways of passing wealth on to future generations while alive
  3. Charitable donations via investment accounts or insurance policies
  4. Advising on family trusts (via our tax law specialist)

We work collaboratively with accountants and lawyers to provide our clients with a streamlined, cohesive approach to legacy planning.
